Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Reception on arrival at Kilimanjaro airport and transfer to Arusha.
Day 2: Safari at the Manyara
After breakfast and a brief briefing with your driver/guide, we go on a safari to Lake Manyara. The Safari will last the whole day and you will have lunch with a picnic under the fabulous yellow acacia trees, so distinctive of the park. This park inside the Rift valley has a very interesting variety of fauna: elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, impalas and many others including many hippos that attract as many water birds. Here it is possible to spot the famous lions that climb trees, a rare species, found only in the Lake Manyara ecosystem. At the end of the day, if requested to your driver/guide, you can visit the village of Mto Wa Mbu.
Day 3: Safari to the Ngorongoro
After breakfast, we set off for the Ngorongoro Crater, a vast caldera 20km in diameter, and one of the places in Tanzania to see the Big Five: the elephant, the lion, the rhino, the leopard and the buffalo.
Picnic lunch near the Ngoitokitok pond. In the crater, you can observe more than 500 species of birds between residents and migratory birds. Lake Magadi, which means salty, often hosts pink flamingos. Hippos relax in freshwater ponds while buffaloes bathe on the shore. At the end of the day return to your hotel/lodge.
Day 4: Serengeti Safari
Departure for a safari in the Serengeti, after breakfast. The Serengeti is the second largest national park in the country. Famous for its annual wildebeest migration, this park has magnificent landscapes: the grassy savannah of the infinite plains of the South, the tree-lined regions of the west, the Kopjes region (granite formations) and the bush savannah in the North.
Picnic lunch during the safari. In this immense plain with permanent watering points, it is possible to observe huge herds of wildebeest chased by their predators. The Serengeti is so big that you could be the only one to watch a cheetah hunt its favourite prey: the fast Thomson’s gazelle. At the end of the day return to your accommodation.
Day 5: Last Safari and visit of a Masai village
After breakfast, we leave for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, after having had a last safari in the Serengeti. The abundance of animals in northern parks has generated a local economy based on ecotourism. Tanzania has established specific protection and taxation policies on all tourist activities. Picnic lunch during the trip. In the afternoon you will arrive in the Olduvai region, from where it is possible to visit a Masai village. At the end of the afternoon, we head towards your accommodation.
